Gambling is essentially the wagering of some thing of worth or value against an unknown result with an uncertain potential outcome. Gambling therefore requires three elements to be present: danger, consideration, and a reward. The reward might be fiscal, the status or recognition of one's art, or even something abstract such as fame, esteem, or a sense of power.
